Dancers explore different techniques and express themselves in an environment that helps to promote positive self-esteem through dedication and discipline. Open to students beginning in sixth grade, a solid foundation in ballet, jazz, dance history is formed. As the dancer progresses, choreography projects are incorporated. All dancers perform a minimum of twice a year at the winter and spring recitals, and select dancers have the opportunity to perform at various school activities, including the Student Choreography Showcase and Professional Exposure Day.
The Sundancers (Prep) and Jr. Sundancers (Academy) are audition-based dance companies offered to students with advanced technical training in various dance styles and that have a solid foundation in choreography. The Sundancers and Jr. Sundancers participate in approximately 15 public and school performances per year including regional, state or national competitions.
