Gulliver head baseball coach, Manny Crespo, has been named to the 15U USA Baseball team as an assistant coach. Coach Crespo will lead the 15U Baseball team in their attempt to win the gold medal as they compete in the 2018 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Baseball World Cup in Panama City, Panama in August.
Crespo was selected for this honor due to his extensive coaching experience which includes serving as a coach for the 2017 15U National Team Trials, the National Team Championships, the NTIS and the Women's National Team Trials.
Crespo said, "It is a tremendous honor to represent the United States in this capacity. Since we will be competing in Panama, I am looking forward to coaching the players on how to succeed and play baseball away from home and against some the best competition in the world. I feel my experience coaching at Gulliver will aid me in helping these players overcoming this challenge while maximizing their performance and potential. "
Crespo further added, "Personally, I am relishing the opportunity to win a gold medal for my country. I have won a silver, bronze and multiple championships on all levels but it will truly be a joy to win a gold medal at the Baseball World Cup. Lastly, being able to play the Baseball World Cup in my mother's home country is truly something special. Winning the gold in my mother's homeland will truly be an accomplishment beyond my dreams."
