Annual Fund Update - March 2018

By Director of Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships Nicole Kaufman Glasgow P '31

Ten years ago, Gulliver established the Annual Fund, which provides resources to elevate the level of academic challenge, improve the student experience, implement the latest technological advancements in academics, and enhance the beauty and functionality of our campuses. In 2007, we ignited fundraising with a $100,000 goal for the year. Each year, our community has stepped up to contribute to the Annual Fund and foster a growing culture of philanthropy at our school.

"This year, we have raised over $825,000 towards an unprecedented annual fund goal of $1.3 million," said Gulliver's Director of Executive Affairs Lori-Ann Cox P '19 '25. "The Annual Fund has supported a wide array of enhancements, including facility updates, scholarships, travel, professional development, athletic equipment, community service initiatives, visiting artists and more. We are proud to celebrate the growing participation of parents, alumni and their families, faculty and staff, and friends of our school. Our collective investments are fueling Gulliver's strategic plan and enhancing our ability to deliver upon our mission."

Gifts to the Annual Fund may be designated to a particular program, sport or other purpose. Unrestricted gifts to the annual fund support financial aid and scholarships, facilities and program enhancement, service learning, and community initiatives.

Gifts can be made year round, with our fiscal year ending on June 30. Additionally, Gulliver presents four key fundraising events during the year: Raider Fest at Make a Splash, Holiday Marketplace, Raider Challenge and the Gulliver Gala. Sponsorship and gifts given as part of these events also support and grow the Annual Fund.

Raider Challenge Grows the Athletic Fund

Each year for the last 16 years, Gulliver parents, alumni, coaches and friends have come together on the green to support Gulliver's Athletic Fund through the Raider Challenge. The beloved annual golf tournament enjoyed a makeover this year, with new exciting event features including an Oakley Shopping spree, a ParTee on the Green and an opportunity to play with new Gulliver President Cliff Kling at the Hole in One.

Raising more than $75,000, this year's event saw a 92 percent increase in on-course fundraising and positive feedback from participants regarding the upgraded tournament experience. The evening culminated with the 19th Hole Awards Dinner.

Raider Challenge is one of the ways our community helps build upon Gulliver's commitment to student-athletes. With more than 90 athletic programs, students at every level have the opportunity to develop life skills that they will carry with them far beyond the field, pitch, court or pool. Each year, the Gulliver Athletic Department continues to attract and cultivate talent and grow the competitiveness of its programs. The Athletic Fund strengthens this Gulliver legacy. With growing contributions each year, the Athletic Fund creates and enhances opportunities for our student-athletes and teams, advancing the priorities of our coaches and the vision of the department.

All gifts to the Athletic Fund directly impact current student-athletes in the form of general and sport-specific program enhancements such as travel, equipment, training and technology.

Special thanks to Raider Challenge presenting sponsor AA Uniform, dinner sponsor the Gomez Family, as well as all of our event sponsors and golfers, whose support is directed to the Athletic Fund to enhance the experience for our student-athletes and teams.
