(Grades 9 - 12)
Gulliver Preparatory School offers unparalleled opportunities to enhance individual talents and skills and to prepare for admission to selective colleges and universities. Preparatory students experience the traditional subject areas of English, mathematics, science, social science, and foreign languages. Underclassmen who have excelled in these core subject areas are offered placement in honors, advanced classes, and elective courses later during their upper school years. These advanced courses allow students to pursue college level work in areas directed toward college majors and careers after college. Advanced Placement courses in virtually all subject areas, and the schools’ renowned International Baccalaureate Program (IB) ensure appropriate levels of challenge and support for students with exceptional academic capacity. In addition, in-depth curricular sequences in engineering, architecture, bio-medicine, visual arts, and performing arts enable students with special interests and talents to hone their skills and develop resumes which will enable them to enter colleges or universities at advanced levels in their areas of interest.
Enhanced by fully integrated technology systems, classroom instruction emphasizes student engagement and problem solving applicable to real-life situations. In upper level courses, students have opportunities for individual research and creative expression. Knowledgeable and experienced teachers employ a variety of instructional modes to ensure optimal academic performance. Open and regular communication with parents is fundamental to the high academic development to which Gulliver Schools is committed.
More than 50 nationalities are represented in the families of students who attend Gulliver Preparatory School. Openness to various cultures, religions, and family traditions are the hallmarks of the school’s community. Students interact on a daily basis with individuals from backgrounds different from their own, helping ensure that campus interactions are friendly, cooperative, and positive.
