Athletic Program Overview

Gulliver provides athletic opportunities to meet the needs of all students. While taking pride in a winning tradition, Gulliver's Athletic Program seeks to develop character, build self-esteem and teach the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.

College coaches and recruiters: Please visit the individual team page if you are interested in certain athletes (listed under "Teams" tab). Rosters, current head coach information and emails are available on each team page. We encourage you to attend our sporting events!

Grades 6 - 8 Athletics

Gulliver Middle School fields a full interscholastic athletic program for students in Grades 6 - 8 for fall, winter and spring seasons. In the fall, tackle football is available for grades 6 - 8. The sixth grade team provides an environment where smaller athletes have the experience of tackle football without competing against bigger and older athletes.

Raider boys have teams in cross country, swimming and golf. Girls may join teams to compete in cross country, swimming, cheerleading and volleyball. These younger athletes have the chance to compete against athletes from other schools.

Winter sports include basketball and soccer for both boys and girls. Sixth grade boys participate in a basketball program with a limited schedule against other schools with sixth grade teams from Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The spring is the busiest season for athletics, with girls’ teams in softball, track and field, water polo and tennis. Spring sports for boys include baseball, lacrosse, water polo, track and field and tennis. Sixth grade boys participate in a baseball program with a limited schedule against other schools with sixth grade teams from Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The Middle School Athletic Program is designed to develop athletes for the future by preparing them for successful competition at the Prep level and beyond.

Grades 9 - 12 Athletics

Gulliver Prep's sports program is one of the premier programs in Miami-Dade County and has been recognized among the best in Florida for many years. More than half of the Prep students are involved in the athletics program. Thirty five teams, supported by two cheerleading squads, compete in the state playoff programs. Over the years, Gulliver's teams have won district, regional, sectional, state runner-up and state championships, as well as numerous conference championships.

Students also have received recognition as all-county and all-state athletes, as Miami-Dade County athletes of the year, All-Americans and as members of the United States Olympic Team. Many students continue to participate in athletics when they go on to college and even professionally.

The Miami Herald awarded Gulliver the "All Sports Award" for having the top program for small schools in Miami-Dade County and the Florida High School Activities Association ranked Gulliver second in the state in the 3A classification.
