Pinecrest, Fla. – May 2, 2016 – Gulliver is pleased to announce that it has named Peter Olrich as director of college counseling and guidance for Gulliver Prep (grades 9–12). Beginning July 1, 2016, Olrich will join the Gulliver family from Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts, where he is currently the dean of college counseling.

“We are eagerly awaiting for Peter to begin his new role at Gulliver,” said Frank Steel, Gulliver’s head of schools. “His experience will be fundamental in allowing us to continue supporting students and their families in the college admissions process as well as broader guidance matters.”

Olrich’s vast experience in independent school education includes serving in multiple roles at Brooks: as a teacher of English and ethics (in the theology department); the assistant director of admissions; the associate director of college counseling; and the head boys’ crew coach.

A Boston native, Olrich earned a bachelor’s degree in English and American literature from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Earlier in his career, he founded the office of college counseling at the Bay School of San Francisco.

“My family and I are so excited to move to Florida and join the Gulliver community this summer,” Olrich said. “It’s a one-of-a-kind institution with extraordinary opportunities for its students, and the community has an incredible heart.”
